Java 8 Update to Homework 3 assignment (From Nick Olmestead)

In order to get the lab to work a few small adjustments must be made. Note that I am doing this on a school computer so depending on the version of Java running on any given machine these commands may be different.

On a school machine though:

  1. Navigate to the C: drive
  2. Navigate to the jdk folder which is located at: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_45\bin\

All the tools to generate keys are the same, so to generate a pair of keys the command is still:

keytool -genkey -alias test

From here you will be prompted for all the information the tool needs to generate the keys. Here, instead of using the keystore command to retrieve keys, you simply just run:

keytool -v -list

which will then list all the sets of keys stored in the keystore

I have also included a screen shot of my cmd window executing all of these commands.
